Artist Biography

Terri Madden is a visual artist based in the sun-drenched countryside of the Noosa Hinterland, best known for her impressionist landscapes and abstracted florals.

Her work captures the softness, joy, and grounding beauty of nature, offering more than just art - it’s a celebration of home, family, and the stories we live every day.

Working primarily with acrylics, inks and watercolour, Terri’s process is intuitive and deeply personal. Each artwork is shaped by light, texture, and quiet experimentation.

At the heart of her practice is Terri Madden Studio - a creative home where art and life meet with warmth, intention, and a little bit of country soul. Each piece is created to feel like home: to bring comfort, tell a story, and reflect the beauty we often overlook.

“I find that my creative process steers the course of a work, and frequently, something uncovered during experimentation ends up influencing the finer aspects of a piece.”

Themes of place, belonging, and gentle resilience run through Terri’s work, especially as they appear in the lives of contemporary women and mothers.

“Each piece begins from the quiet rhythm of country life - the people, the landscape, the flora and fauna. I’m always chasing the changing light and colour of the world around me.”

Terri has been painting since she was a child, and in 2005 completed a Diploma of Visual Arts, majoring in painting and illustration. She was selected for several group exhibitions early in her career and spent over a decade creating commissioned works. More recently, she has returned to exhibiting with a renewed vision - offering both original works and fine art prints that speak to a life well-lived.

“Even with two small children in tow,” she says, “I always make time to paint, even if it's only a few minutes at a time. It keeps me grounded, connected, and inspired.”
